1966 - getting the lead role in the play Charlies
Aunt in my high school production. I had a really excellent stage
coach who helped me learn how to move correctly and be comfortable on
stage.

| 1967 - on a bitterly, bitterly
cold night in January attending a percussion clinic and observing young
percussionist Philip Brunelle.
This was the first time I thought being a percussionist might be a cool
thing. |

| 1974 - 1977 - living with Marjorie
and Peter Elias in Cambridge, Mass. These people adopted me
when I was in grad school. They showed me how to lead a balanced adult
life. |

| 1978 - recording Grammy Award
Nominee Ives Three Places in New England with the St.
Paul Chamber Orchestra with Dennis
Russel Davies conducting. I played the snare drum part. With that
paycheck, I went to Europe for the first time. |
